Latest interior design tends direct from New York 2017

June 14, 2017

I have just returned from ICFF Trade Show in New York, a Luxury Furniture Fair showcasing over 750 exhibitors from across America and Europe. It was two incredible days, listening to speakers, spotting new trends, discovering new colours and textures, furniture pieces that amazed me from clever design and workmanship. Here are a few snaps of what I loved.

Today I will share with the latest in COLOUR – it was abundant in NYC. Rather than one colour dominating there emerged a palette with the following.
The colour pallets were muted down, warm and earthy, allowing the colour combinations to be quite harmonised and for some still pushing the boundary, as a designer I couldn’t get enough. These colours all sit together, within patterns and then varied from a very light colour through to multiple solid colours as seen below. Colour on velvet and felt was apparent, velvet more so..

WATERMELON PINK : Was THE colour, last year it was a baby pink, now its more muted, seen as paint background colour and on furnishings

DEEP BLUE : Will always be a favourite for most. It is a modern classic shade, mainly on furniture and furnishings

FOREST GREEN: Bringing the outside in as we like to do a Kiwis, Forest like deep and rich in tone, an organic hue mixing well with existing colours in your home.

GRAPE: A warm colour seen on scatter cushions and used as a sophisticated pop of colour, continuation from the latest Pantone colour of the year.

MUSTARD CURRY: This again a rich brave colour with lots of warmth to it, sometimes more yellow others more burnt orange, either way it bought warmth and something quite unique to the spaces.
