HOME STAGING: SOJO’S FINCH STREET STAGING TRANSFORMATION

Western Springs is a sought-after spot for those who crave the best of both worlds — urban convenience with a suburban feel. With its charming streets, character, and proximity to Auckland’s top cafés and parks, it’s easy to see the appeal. On Finch Street, we staged a sleek, contemporary townhouse that already had strong design bones, but needed our styling expertise to transform it into a space buyers could instantly connect with.

The Brief

Our goal was to enhance the home’s thoughtful approach to space, maximise light, and liveability. The property’s modern layout, mid-century modern aesthetic, neutral finishes, and generous windows provided the perfect canvas for us to experiment with.

Kitchen & Dining: Sleek Meets Inviting

The kitchen’s rich timber cabinetry, crisp white benchtops, and understated tile backsplash already gave it a contemporary edge. To complement this, we opted for soft, textural bar stools, a minimal sculptural centrepiece, and simple styling that kept the focus on the quality finishes.

The dining area flows effortlessly from the kitchen, so we selected a round table with plush dark grey dining chairs, perfect for both intimate dinners and casual entertaining. A low-profile centrepiece with black taper candles grounded the space in sophistication without overpowering the light-filled room.

Living Space: Soft Neutrals & Organic Accents

In the open-plan living area, our focus was on balancing the home’s sharp, modern features with plush, touchable textures. A neutral sofa layered with earthy-toned cushions and a cosy throw created an inviting hub, while a sleek black coffee table with organic sculptural decor tied the scheme together.

Positioning was key — we angled seating to take in both the leafy outlook and the seamless indoor-outdoor flow to the balcony, showing buyers just how effortlessly the home accommodates both relaxation and socialising.

Bedrooms: Serene & Stylish Retreats

The primary bedroom was styled as a calm, restorative space. Soft neutral bedding was layered with tonal cushions, while boucle stools at the foot of the bed added both texture and a high-end feel. In the ensuite, the existing timber vanity and double sinks were the star, so we kept accessories minimal, spa-like ceramics, and fresh greenery.

The additional bedrooms were styled with a contemporary edge, each with distinct but cohesive colour palettes. Warm browns, soft taupes, and sculptural lamps brought personality while ensuring the rooms felt spacious and adaptable for different lifestyles.

Bathrooms: Minimalist Luxury

With clean lines, fluted glass showers, and modern fixtures, these bathrooms needed little more than subtle styling to feel luxurious. We added tonal accessories and soft textures to amplify the sense of calm while letting the architecture shine.

Balcony: City-Fringe Outdoor Living

We staged the balcony to highlight its role as an extension of the living space. Perfect for a morning coffee or evening wine. A cosy lounge setting at one end and a small dining set at the other showed how versatile the outdoor area could be, all while framing that sought-after Western Springs outlook.

The Result

Our Finch Street staging turned a sleek, modern townhouse into a warm, move-in-ready home. By layering textures, defining zones, and creating moments of visual interest, we showcased both the practicality and lifestyle appeal of this property. The end result? A space where buyers could picture themselves living, entertaining, and thriving.
