Having been lucky enough to have continuously worked with this lovely client for many years, we are gradually taking on this stunning Meadowbank family home room by room to give it a timely Sojo Design makeover.
The kitchen was our most recent project. Being the ultimate hub of the home where friends and family gather regularly, our client had a lot of input into the final design and detail, working under our experience and guidance.

Before >> This dark 90s kitchen with curved stainless steel bench was much in need of some love!
Though we had to work within the constraints of an overall identical footprint, we managed to add a lovely pantry to extend the available working and storage space. Conveniently tucked away behind closed doors, this became the perfect area for harbouring away the toaster, kettle and other items that otherwise add clutter to kitchen benches.
We managed to slightly increase the width and depth of the stone-topped island which became a beautiful statement combined with the idea to make it a contrasting colour to really help it stand out. The shaker style cabinet profile was a design trend my clients had always fallen for, so we also chose to add this feature to the end panels rather than applying standard waterfall ends to the benchtop.

After >> Unrecognisable, the space is now clean, bright and airy. Contemporary with a traditional shaker twist
The handles, sink and tap were all selected from Archant and the beautiful stone bench including the splashback are from Caesarstone. A simple strip light underneath the overhead cabinets help to illuminate the gorgeous stone at night.
The beautiful natural oak stools were purchased and reupholstered in a practical fabric custom-specified by us. The pendant lights above the island really help to define the space and add wonderful directional lighting overhead. The overall result is a stunning and unique family space designed with practicality and ease-of-entertaining at its heart.
